Community Banner for Hire

Promote your event, business or club on Malahide’s Community Banner. The banner can be installed above Main Street with your message visible to all Malahide residents and visitors. We have a standard banner that can be adopted for you or otherwise you can use your own banner. The cost for this is low and any excess above the cost to install your banner goes to Malahide Tidy Town funds.

The national Tidy Towns Competition has been running in Ireland for over 50 years and each year attracts more than 700 local communities who compete for a cash award and the title of Ireland's Tidiest Town.

The Malahide Tidy Town Committee, a sub-committee of the Chamber, won another Gold Medal in our category of large towns. The Committee was led this year by Gerry Rafferty, CSP Building Services, who was very well supported by local businesses who largely funded his activities. Gerry was the organiser behind our previous Entente Florale Europe Award. He sees this as the start of a new campaign for 2009 where we need to maintain what we have achieved and to create new areas of excellence for both the competition and all the people of Malahide.

The Chamber of Commerce, together with residents' groups, has played a significant role in Malahide's entry in the competition over the years, an effort that has been rewarded on numerous occasions with a variety of awards.

This followed several regional awards and in more recent times Malahide has won:

Tidy Towns Silver Medal in 2002 Tidy Towns Gold Medal in 2003 Tidy Towns Gold Medal, Best Urban Village Award and Tidiest Town in Dublin Award in 2004 Tidy Towns Gold Medal 2008 European 'Entente Florale' Gold Medal in 2003.
